Art direction selects from Desires, the final issue of Gelée Magazine. Existing as a student-led publication based out of the University of Florida, Gelée Magazine explored experimental art and artists from Gainesville, Florida and beyond.
Centered on the nature of longing, the issue offers a glimpse into our deepest wants and needs—those we consciously name, and those that linger somewhere else. Editorial shoots took shape as visual manifestations of these desires, translating internal impulses into constructed environments, gestures, and scenes that move between fantasy and familiarity. Emily Swenson led the creative direction across all editorial shoots, guiding the development of this visual language alongside her creative team.
